Aside from using different equipment available inside the gym such as barbells, kettlebells, etc, there are still a lot of ways of keeping the body fit. The style of exercise and workout are all depending on the capacity of the individual or if what is the recommended one for them by their gym instructors.

There are people who are not satisfied of simple workouts and do more prefer the intense ones that will definitely make them sweat and lose fat easier. Most of them are using wrist weights. Wrist weights are excellent in building the upper body. It is also a good way of toning up the muscles and providing good strength.

But then, before using these types of weights, you should know first the advantages and disadvantages of it so that you are well guided and will not be shocked regarding the wrist weights.

Pros of Wrist Weights

The use of the wrist weights are more convenient than using the weights being lifted or hold with hands. The weight of it is ranging from 1 to 3 pounds which is not that heavy. It is comfortable to use and will not be straining that much to the wrists and arms. This is being put around the wrists and will be providing you a better workout. This is also a good way of toning up the muscles. Good thing about these wrist weights, you can use it in whatever type of physical exercise you are doing. Whether it is walking, running, punching, jumping or kicking, these weights will not fall off easily and have better hold.

Furthermore, this will be allowing the user to move their arms as well as their arms freely wherein they are still able to use dumbbells or barbells as long as the wrists can hold it. The wrist weights are also providing good resistance to make the cardio workouts more effective and efficient. Even at home, you can use this continuing the way you exercise. In addition, when it comes to health benefits, these weights are increasing the heart rate thus elevating the oxygen consumption.

Cons of Wrist Weights

Aside from the advantages, there are also disadvantages of wrist weighs. These include the following.

Not all individuals can use the wrist weights. This is depending on the capacity of their wrists is how much weight it can hold. These are not appropriate with workouts which are considered very extreme and have a huge impact. This will just strain the user and will feel tons of tiredness and jerking. If you are going to use this, there is a need to know the cautions about it. By knowing this, you will know how beneficial it is for you or if it is really catering all your exercising needs.

There are brands of wrists weights available in the market which is in low- quality. These are very risky for the fact that some of them can easily get off your wrists and might fall on your foot. This will surely be providing unbearable pain.
