Tinea capitis is a fungal infection of the scalp. It is also commonly known as ringworm of the scalp. Symptoms include thickened skin on the scalp, scaly scalp, boggy swellings, severe itching, and and raised red rings on the scalp. This infection can also be present in a mans bear, the groin area, and between the toes.
