Stye Definition and Symptoms
A stye is a painful lump filled with pus on the edge of the eyelid. Sties usually form on the outside of the eyelid but can also form on the inner part as well. The most common cause of a sty is poor hygiene. Symptoms include a red lump on the eyelid that resembles a pimple, eyelid pain, swelling in the eyelid, tearing, and crusting around the eyelid.
