Shrooms Side Effects

Psychedelic mushrooms or shrooms are usually consumed intentionally but there are instances that these are taken by accident. Psilocybin and Psilocin are the standard psychoactive compounds of shrooms. These hallucinogens as well as other compounds found in the mushroom can create undesirable effects and sought-after sensations.

Moderate dosage for most individuals is 1 gram of dried shrooms while high dose is two to three grams and this might lead to strong psychedelic experience. Possible unpleasant shrooms side effects can be expected if higher dose will be taken. The typical experience might last from 4 to 6 hours. 1. Fear
These mushrooms can create the feeling of fear, paranoia or uneasiness. These can also produce intense auditory hallucinations and visual imagery that may be worrisome and disturbing. Common objects like domestic animals can have threatening and menacing appearance. The user of shrooms might be aware of what they see or hear but they might doubt them to be real leading to effects on their personal safety. 2. Nausea
Some individuals experience nausea and upset stomach when they consume excessive amounts of these mushrooms. Vomiting also occurs but these are only in rare cases. Vomiting is only temporary and this often disappears within few hours of consumption. Diarrhea and vomiting happens if the mushrooms are in poor condition or decaying state when eaten. In this case, sickness is caused by contaminated microbes or bacteria and not by naturally occurring substances found in the mushrooms.

3. Dry Mouth
One of the Shrooms side effects is dry mouth. Your mouth might feel dry and there are even instances that there are numb or loss of feeling in the tongue and lips. Some individuals have reported having more saliva than the usual but this is probably because of ingestion of mistaken psychoactive mushrooms.

 

 

4. Physical Weakness
There is also the feeling of inability to control the body. There are also instances that shrooms may make individuals immobilized and weak. When intense physical effects are in progress, individuals can lay down until the weakness passes then stand up and try to move around for several moments before the process strikes again. This side effect usually happen when larger doses are consumed.

5. Mental Illness
If these mushrooms are consumed by individuals with underlying mental condition such as panic disorder or schizophrenia, this can cause dangerous and highly erratic behavior. After effects wherein fantasy and reality are intermingled usually last longer in individuals who are already finding it difficult to distinguish reality from fantasy. When larger amount of mushrooms are consumed, an individual can go crazy and can experience lack of judgment and might unintentionally injure others and themselves.

Other Shroom side effects might also include stomach pain and paranoia. There are times that object, sounds and colors disappear, movements can slow down or speed up and there is a feeling of being tired, sick or disoriented.
