Plantar Fasciitis Definition and Symptoms
Plantar fasciitis is when the thick tissue on the bottom of the foot becomes inflamed. This tissue, called the plantar fascia, connects the toes to the heel bone to create the arch of the foot. Symptoms include a stabbing pain in the bottom of the foot that is typically worse the first steps after waking.
