Paronychia Definition and Symptoms
Paronychia is an infection to the skin around the nail. This is a very common condition that can be caused by bacteria, candida (yeast) or other types of fungus. Symptoms often include tenderness around the nail, changes in the nail appearance (shape, texture, color), detachment of the nail, and pus filled blisters around the nail.
