Mysophobia Symptoms

Are you an individual who doesn’t like germs? You could have mysophobia. This is a type of phobia for individuals who have a fear of germs. This type of phobia can actually be bad for their health. You will see them avoiding all types of different activities and social gatherings.

Mysophobia

This is a type of phobia in which an individual has a fear of germs or even dirt. This fear could result in an individual becoming obsessed with cleaning; this would mostly be cleaning their hands. If someone has the phobia bad then they would not only clean their hands but also their whole body.

There are certain times to be concerned about germs. For example an excellent reason would be in the instance of food and cross contamination. It is normal in everyday life to make sure that things are clean and even sanitized. It’s not normal to be obsessed by it. They will also have use quite a bit of hand sanitizer.

Symptoms

Some of the symptoms that an individual could notice about themselves are the following. They may shake, sweat, cry, or even have heart palpitations when they have become exposed to any type of germs or even dirt. They may even feel like they are short of breath or even feel nauseated. When an individual has to shake hands with someone else they could possibly start to shake because they don’t know if they will catch any type of germs from them. They may also become uneasy or very uncomfortable around things that they think could be contaminated.

Individuals will take extra precautions in avoiding dirt and any type of contamination. They will even try to find ways to avoid going places, being around people, or they will even stay away from things where they could possibly encounter any type of germs. The individual may avoid using any type of public restrooms, sharing any type of food, or even taking public transportation. They will also try and isolate themselves from different individuals and most importantly, places. This type of phobia becomes unhealthy for them.

When an individual has mysophobia they will possibly avoiding many things. You will notice them constantly washing their hands, keeping things cleaner than normal, and even possibly going anywhere. They are so afraid of contracting germs. You will also notice them using hand sanitizer quite frequently. For them this is very normal.
