Multiple Sclerosis Definition and Symptoms
Multiple sclerosis is a disease where the body’s immune system eats away the protective cover (myelin) which covers the nerves. This damage causes interference in communication between the brain, spinal cord, and other areas of the body. This disease has no cure, however there are treatments available to help manage symptoms and reduce progression. Symptoms include partial or complete loss of central vision, tingling in parts of the body, lack of coordination, slurred speech, dizziness, fatigue, and numbness in one ore more limbs.
