Lumbago Definition and Symptoms
Lumbago is pain in the lumbar region that is caused by muscle strain, osteoarthritis, a herniated intervertebral disk, or rheumatoid arthritis. It is caused by a vascular insufficiency. Symptoms include radiating pain down one or both legs, inflammation of the leg/back, a feeling of being depressed, bladder or bowel incontinence, and blood in the urine.
