Kidney Stone Definition and Symptoms
Kidney stones are hard deposits of mineral and acid salts that form in the kidneys and are passed through the urethra. Passing kidney stones can be and usually is extremely painful due to the shape and makeup of the stones. Symptoms of kidney stones are pain in the side and back, painful urination, pink or brown urine, foul smelling urine, nausea, persistent urge to urinate, an fever or chills if an infection is present.
