Hypoadrenia Symptoms

Hypoadrenia or adrenal fatigue are terms in alternative medicine used in alternative medicine. The theory is that adrenal glands can be exhausted and become unable to produce required amounts of hormones, especially glucocorticoid cortisol. I particular, the term “adrenal fatigue” is used for a series of non-specific symptoms. The following is a description of many of these supposed symptoms, or at the least are the feelings that are often associated with this condition.

How You May Feel

First, you feel tired even though there is no reason for you to feel so. Sometimes, that exhaustion hits you when there is absolutely no reason for you to be feeling exhausted. Second, you have trouble getting up in the morning, even when you went to bed at a reasonable hour and received plenty of sleep. Instead of feeling refreshed in the morning like you should when you’ve had enough sleep, you feel really unable to get out of your bed. Third, you’re constantly have this feeling of being rundown or overwhelmed. This is despite the fact that there’s nothing actually mentally overwhelming you at the time, you just have the feeling that you are. Fourth, it is very difficult for you to bounce back from stress or illness. You usually tend to recover your energy after illness or stress passes over you but in this case, the lack of energy persists anyway. Fifth, you develop a craving for salty and sweet snacks. Salt regulates your blood while sugar provides you with energy—your body craving these suggests that for some reason there is a lack of these substances in your body. And finally, sixth, you tend to become more alert, energetic, ad awake after 6PM than you do the rest of the day.

Symptoms

There are other symptoms associated with adrenal fatigue as well. Symptoms such as irritation and anxiety, a decreased sex drive, dizziness, and lethargy. Discomfort or difficulty with you digestive system has also been observed. In addition to the salt and sugar cravings, sufferer can also develop a dependency on caffeine. When it boils down to it, the symptoms of hypoadrenia are so varied that they tend to differ from person to person, when different people often experiencing different combinations of these symptoms. That is probably the biggest reason why hypoadrenia has yet to be recognized in official medical circles; the varied nature of the symptoms makes it too difficult to pinpoint a specific cause to these symptoms.
