Home Remedies for Plantars Warts

Is There an Effective Plantars Wart Home Remedy?

Do you have a sore on your foot that just won’t go away? When you step down on your foot, do you get an excruciating pain because of that sore? If you do, then there’s a good chance that you’re suffering from a Plantar warts. These sores, which are caused by non-cancerous growths of skin cells by the HPV virus, often form on pressure points of the foot, making it uncomfortable to walk. Is there an effective Plantars wart home remedy that will help to take the pain away?

These lifestyle and home treatment options have shown to be successful:

1. Salicylic Acid

There are several over-the-counter products that contain salicylic acid that have been found to effectively treat a Plantar wart. If you don’t properly treat the area of the foot before applying the product with Salicylic acid first, however, the product will likely be ineffective. You must soak your foot for about 20 minutes first, then gently scrub away the dead skin tissues around the wart. Once that is done, the Salicylic acid product can be applied according to its instructions.

2. Duct Tape

Can duct tape really be an effective plantars wart home remedy? The goal of applying duct tape to the wart is for you to seal off the oxygen supply to the area. When the wart doesn’t have a chance to grow or thrive, it will eventually starve and die. It can take several weeks for this method to work, so be patient with your wart and you may eventually find success.

3. Retinol

If you look at some night moisturizers that are on the market today, some of them contain Retinol, which can be an effective Plantars wart home remedy. Simply apply the night moisturizers to the wart at night before you go to bed and you will likely see results within a couple weeks. For extremely sore warts, you may wish to consider applying the cream in the morning when you wake up as well.

4. Thyme Oil

For those who use Thyme oil over the period of a couple weeks, they have found that the Plantar wart is attracted to the surface of the foot as they continually slough off the dead skin cells around the wart. Eventually you can just pluck the sucker out with this home remedy! Though you can directly purchase Thyme oil, you can also make your own: using canola oil and at least 1 tablespoon of thyme, heat the oil so that the herb can infuse with it. A non-stick pan will help you do this. Then simply store the oil for when you need to use it!

By cushioning your foot and using one of these Plantars wart home remedies, you can help to relieve the pain you’re experiencing right now and get onto the road toward recovery. Start today and hopefully you’ll experience a complete relief within the next couple weeks!
