Gynecomastia is also known as atypical lobular hyperplasia of left breast, atypical lobular hyperplasia of right breast, breast hypertrophy, gynecomastia, large breast, and macromastia. This excludes breast engorgement in newborn (778.7) and disproportion of reconstructed breast (612.1). This applies to gynecomastia, hypertrophy of breath: NOS and massive pubertal.
Gynecomastia Definition and Symptoms
Gynecomastia is an abnormal enlargement of a males breast tissue. This is due to excess breast tissue, not fat tissue. The most common causes are changes in hormone levels, aging, chemotherapy, lack of testosterone, marijuana use, hormone treatments, and radiation treatment of the testicles.
