Foot Drop Definition and Symptoms
Foot drop is an abnormality where the dropping of the forefoot occurs due to weakness, damage to the fibular nerve, or paralysis of the muscles in the anterior part of the lower leg. Foot drop is usually a symptom of an underlying condition. Symptoms include difficulty lifting the front part of the foot, “slapping” your foot down when you walk, and numbness in the top of the foot.
