Flumist (intranasal, influenza Vaccine Live) is a brand of flu vaccine which is given through nasal spray. Compared to flu shot there are no needles required, appealing to kids parents alike. Side Effects with Flumist
1: Most Common: Cough chills, decreased appetite, fever, muscle aches, headache, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, weakness or tiredness, irritability, loss of appetite and irritability.
2: Least Common: tightness of chest or wheezing, sneezing, earache, tenderness or pain around the eyes and check bones, swelling or redness in the air, trouble or shortness in breathing.
3: Rare: Hives, difficulty in swallowing or breathing, itching most especially around the area of ears, tiredness, weakness, reddening of skin especially around the ears.
4: Very Rare Side Effects: bloody nose, anxiety, pale or blue skin, confusion, diarrhea, chest pain possibly by moving from right or left arm, shoulder or neck, drowsiness, dizziness, fast heartbeat, hoarseness, feeling of illness, irritation, inability to move the legs and arms, stiffness, swelling or join pain, severe headache, nausea, skin rash, stiff neck or back, swelling or puffiness of eyelids, lips, face, tongue and eyes, dullness, feeling sluggishness, weakness, tiredness, weakness of face muscle and vomiting.
Physical Side Effects
Nervous System: side effects including Bell’s Palsy, meningitis, Guilain-Bare syndrome, vaccine associated encephalitis and eosinophilic meningitis.
Respiratory: rhinitis, sinusitis, epistaxis and otitis media was reported.
