He has been one of the popular English authors. Dr. Johnson rocked his own head and made some unusual sounds. He also suffered from such facial tics. He had his good friend named James Boswell who wrote a book entitled “Life” which contains details about his condition including the tics he had suffered from. This became the way for him to be diagnosed with Tourettes Syndrome 200 years after he died.
2. Howard Hughes
Hughes is a great American of the twentieth century who also suffered from Tourette’s syndrome. He has been wealthy, entrepreneur and innovator. He was also recognized as an eccentric person who made movies. Despite these privileges in life, he suffered from such condition. In fact, he had this syndrome in his life until he passed away.
3. David Beckham
Beckham is known for having both OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and Tourette’s syndrome. The severity of Tourette’s in his life remains a mystery while the severity of his OCD has been rare.
4. Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf
Abdul-Rauf has been a former professional basketball player in America. Unfortunately, he was one of the persons who had Tourette’s syndrome but only a mild version. He felt that the syndrome encouraged him to seek after perfection and obtain great results. For 9 years, he has been a part of NBA and in the present, he is seen in Slam Dunk contents. He is also an achiever of the record for free-throw shooting that is the most precise ever.
5. Tim Howard
He is a popular soccer player of the United States and is known for his perfect goalkeeping skills. He has been diagnosed with Tourette when he was nine years old. During his young years, Howard used to spend time in playing sports but he excelled in soccer. He has been successful in his career and soccer games despite having Tourette’s syndrome.
6. Michael Wolff
Michael Wolff has been a very popular Jazz composer, musician and producer. However, he unfortunately had Tourette’s syndrome during his childhood years. He has not been officially diagnosed with this condition during his middle age life. As he grows up, he worked hard to hide his vocal and motor tics consciously. Due to his effort, these never hindered his school career or social life. In the present, he and his beloved wife are the Board of Directors in Tourette Syndrome Assoication. In addition, he is also mentoring the children who suffer from the same condition.
7. Steve Wallace
Stephen Wallace or simply known as “Steve Wallace” has been the driver of race cars in the United States. His father, Rusty Wallace has also become popular after being a NASCAR driver before and ESPN announcer. Most people believed that it is quite impossible to get Tourette’s syndrome controlled when controlling the vehicle at higher speeds. However, Steve successfully controlled the tics and competed with different car races which proved them wrong.
8. Howie Mandel
He is a very popular person because of his TV shows. He is also a good comedian despite the fact of having Tourette’s syndrome. Some of its very popular shows are “Bobby’s World” and “St. Elsewhere”.
