1. Brian Piccolo
Brian Piccolo was born in 1943. He was an American who also stayed in New England, Berkshire County, Pittsfield, Massachusetts and United States. Unfortunately, he suffered from testicular cancer. However, this was not the reason for him to give up on his career.
2. Lance Edward Armstrong
He was a road racing cyclist in America who already won a consecutive of 7 times with Tour de France record. At the age of 25, Armstrong had been diagnosed with testicular cancer in stage three. That happened in year 1996. That has been the aggressive cancer stage wherein cancer cells had metastasized into the lungs, abdomen, and brain. During his very first medical appointment, he got swollen testicles including sputum blood on coughing. The immediate surgery and chemotherapy extended his life in this world. He also underwent to another 2 surgeries wherein the first one is for eliminating the cancerous testicle. The other surgery has been done for removing 2 disease brain lesions.
Armstrong had undergone 4 chemotherapy courses for 3 months period. As stated by his doctors right after the surgery, he got less than 40 percent of survival ratio. However, he never lose hope and instead, he kept a high spirit within. He had chosen the alternative regimen for chemotherapy treatment. This choice could save his career as a cyclist. IN February 1997, he was finally declared as cancer free. During the same year, Armstrong established Lance Armstrong Foundation which was now renamed as Livestrong Foundation which is focused on cancer researches as well as helping all cancer patients.
He was not just renowned for 7 consecutive victories, however, he also for the remarkable battle he successful won against testicular cancer. During one of his interviews, he had declared that he had been proud of being a cancer survivor than the racing victories.
3. Tom Green
Tom Green has been a Canadian writer, comedian, actor, media personality and talk show host. He has been the host of MTV Tom Green Show. In early 2000, he had been diagnosed with testicular cancer. He had undergone several surgeries in order to eliminate the right lymph nodes and right testicle which were a success. The doctors said that the cancer had great prognosis and was curable. After he had been to several surgeries, he was finally backed to his business. While on his treatment process, he also prepared 1 hour MTV special show to make young men highly aware of the disease. This show had been entitled Tom Green Cancer Special. This had recorded the moment or time that led up to surgery including his cancer surgery graphic footage.
The Tom Green’s Nuts Cancer Fund was also started by Tom Green in order to raise funds for cancer researches. In the middle of the years, he sang and spoke right in front of many University of Florida students. He aimed of educating these students as well as other concerned people regarding testicular cancer. Green belongs to the most popular celebrities who were able to fight against the life threatening cancer.
