Famous People with Schizotypal Personality Disorder

 
Schizotypal personality disorder pertains to a personality disorder where odd thinking and behaviors, unconventional beliefs, nervousness in social situations and social isolation becomes a part of the personality of a person. Persons who have this kind of personality disorder exhibit extreme discomfort while socializing with other people. Therefore, those individuals who have schizotypal personality disorder do not socialize with other people because it is one of their most hated activities. For them, making relationships with other people is a very difficult task to do. A person who has schizotypal personality disorder responds oddly in a conversation. Here are the examples of famous people with schizotypal personality disorder:

1. Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson was an American poet who lived in Amherst, Massachusetts with a very successful family who has strong connections and influence in their community. One of her greatest accomplishments in her life as prolific private poet is her collections of poems that are written by her during her lifetime. Emily Dickinson preferred to be alone most of time while writing several poems that expresses her feelings. Just like the other people who have schizotypal personality disorder, Emily Dickinson was able to achieve full recovery from this mental illness. Her personality disorder made her different from other people, but it didn’t stop her from writing several poems that served as an inspiration for other people. She became successful and famous in the end.

2. Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh is a famous Dutch painter who loves to create several paintings. He wants to be always isolated from the other people. And in his own private rooms and places, he maximizes the use of his vacant times by painting and expressing his feelings through several images. Just like the other people who have schizotypal personality disorder, he doesn’t like to socialize with other people and he wants to be alone most of the time.

3. Kim Jong-il

Kim Jong-il was a former leader of North Korea. He was also one of the individuals who have schizotypal personality disorder. His personality exhibits lack of interest in socializing with other people. For him, socializing with other people and trusting them is a threat to him as a leader. Many people were scared under his leadership. It is because he does not want to be opposed by anyone. A person who will try to stop his commands and reject his requests will suffer several punishments.

4. Adolf Hitler

Adolf Hitler is similar to Kim Jong-il, but he is a leader of the Russian Republic in the records of the history. This man has shown some of the characteristics of having a schizotypal personality disorder. Adolf Hitler is a person who doesn’t like to socialize with other people especially to those people who look as threats in his leadership. A person who will stop him in all of his actions and decisions will be punished. Adolf Hitler does not trust anybody just like the other individuals who have schizotypal personality disorder. These are the reasons why he became an example of a person affected by this kind of mental illness.
