Famous People with Delusional Disorder

Delusional disorder is a form of symptom that is connected with psychosis, which is known to be another mental illness. This kind of illness is the condition wherein they believe in fixed things that are made by their imaginations and may occur in real situations. Real life situations like being poisoned or followed are some of the imaginary things that affected people may experience. There are times wherein they would think in a normal manner. However their ideas may lead to disruptive results in their lives.

The diagnosis of such conditions may be due to excess and misuse of drugs and other medications for general and serious conditions. People who are affected by this disorder do not show any evident symptoms that they are thinking about false ideas. There are people who would remain, sensible, coherent and reasonable when talking and there are those that IQs are not affected by what they are thinking. Experts say that people with this kind of condition just believes in certain things and would do things that will prove their beliefs.

There are reports stating that there are famous people with delusional disorder yet these people are not recorded publicly to provide confidentiality about their conditions. Given that there are famous people with delusional disorder, there are certain categories wherein their conditions can be identified individually. The 6 subtypes where these people can be identified are the following:

Grandiose

People who are believe that they are the strongest, richest, greatest, and most intelligent among other people. These people believe strongly that they are capable of spending as much money as they want and can answer just about any problem they may encounter in life.

Erotomanic

These are the people who believe that someone, sometimes a celebrity, is in love with them. There are times wherein these people would buy and watch movies that this celebrity has and watch it repeatedly.

Persecutory

People who have this type are those who believe in the idea that there is always someone following him around, and get the chance to harm him in any way possible. This is a type that can be connected to celebrities who would complain that they are being followed by paparazzi or fans.

Jealous

This type may always happen to couples. It is the type wherein a partner would always think that his love one is always cheating on him. This is a type that may lead to frequent quarrels and may lead to divorce for some married couples.

Mixed

There are times that a mixture of any of the aforementioned types can be observed in an individual. A person can develop more than one of the types, which may lead to severe psychotic disorders.

Being able to observe an individual will help love ones to know the kind of subtype that the person has. Therapies wherein they are taught about how to accept their condition and how to get over it are some of the treatments available for individuals and other famous people with delusional disorder.
