Endometrial hyperplasia is a condition characterized by a greater than normal proliferation of the endometrium. This overgrowth is caused by an excess of estrogen with an imbalance of progesterone. Symptoms include changes in menstrual periods, hot flashes, excessive sweating and a rapid heart rate.
