Diverticulosis is when one or more diverticula in the digestive trace become infected/inflamed. The diverticula are small pouches that can form anywhere in the digestive system. Symptoms include pain that is sudden in the abdomen, change in bowel habits, abdominal tenderness, fever, nausea/vomiting, constipation, bloating, and less commonly bleeding from the rectum.
