When people are in extreme pain they need something to help them get over it because it is way too hard to deal with crippling pain. Back in the days, people needed to deal with it on their own and this had some catastrophic consequences.
There is also mild pain that needs to be taken care of due to comfort and the quality life level we need to have in order to make a good living nowadays. We live incredibly busy lives and if we have a little bit of pain that can influence us in an incredible amount of ways. As such, dealing with the pain is a necessity.
To deal with the pain there are a few different type of drugs that we can use. Two of these are called Lortab and Norco. People see these two for sale but most of the times they don’t really know the difference between them – they just know they are two painkillers for sale, according to most people. This makes it so that their preference turns into a matter of personal opinion.
The biggest difference there is between Lortab and Norco is specific to one single ingredient, that has some effects but, at the end of the day, this difference shouldn’t be much of an influence on anything unless you are in some very intense pain.
The ingredient that differs in them is called Acetaminophen (also known as Tylenol) which in Lortab comes in varying amounts but in Norco comes in the same amount of 325g, the amount that varies in Norco is Hydrocodone, from 5mg to 10mg depending on the strength required.
Lortab, on the other hand, has the same varying amount of Hydrocodone (5-10 mg) but also has a varying amount of Acetaminophen that stays at 500mg. This is a strong ingredient that makes Lortab the strongest of these two, but it does make it the most dangerous one if abused. If a person decides to abuse Lortab this ingredient is going to make some serious damage to the liver of the individual, and mixing this with alcohol is also going to have a risk of liver damage.
At the end of the day, these drugs are also known as paracetamol, and the main difference between these two is just that one ingredient. The rest of it all comes down to branding and brand names.
It is important to know that none of these drugs can be abused, since they can slow down breathing and can actually stop it if taken on large amounts. Doctors are going to prescribe you a specific amount and they should NOT be overused. Moreover, they can form usage habits that need to be avoided at all costs. Abusing these drugs is harmful for your health. As such, these should never be shared with someone who didn’t have them prescribed by a doctor, especially if that person has a history of drug abuse.
If you have children, this type of medicine needs to be safely kept in a place that the children can not reach since they can cause overdose or even death easily in children. Even if death is avoided, a child can suffer some very serious liver damage from taking this type of medicine.
If after taking Lortab or Norco you feel pain in your upper stomach, itching, loss of appetite or nausea, you should call your doctor and tell him everything you are feeling. When you call your doctor you will need to be perfectly honest about the amounts you have taken and if you have mixed the drug with alcohol – it can save your life.
Both Lortab and Norco are taken exactly as they are prescribed. Usually, the prescription label should have directions informing the individual on how to take the medicine and these directions should be respected. If you do so, things are probably going to go your way. If you, however, feel like the doctor gave you some wrong information (for any reason) you should talk to him again to straighten things up – don’t medicate yourself with these painkillers.
If you have been using this type of medicine for a long time and then need to stop using it, you should also check with your doctor the best way to do so. This is very powerful and addictive medicine and as such it is possible that after long-term use your body is used to taking the drug. If you deprive your body of Lortab or Norco after long-term usage, it is likely that you will have to go through some withdrawal symptoms. In order to avoid withdrawal symptoms you should talk to your doctor so that he can help you with them.
When you are taking both Lortab and Norco, there are some things that you should avoid. These drugs are going to impair your reaction time and your thinking ability. As such, activities such as driving, using machinery, heavy physical exercise and so on need to be avoided for your safety and the safety of those around you.
Finally, it is also possible to be allergic to both Lortab and Norco. If you feel like you are having an allergic reaction you should seek immediate medical help . Some symptoms of allergic reaction include swelling of the face, tongue and throat as well as difficulty breathing. It is possible to have a fatal skin reaction from taking these drugs, but only in very rare cases.
