Costochondritis Definition and Symptoms
Costochondritis is inflammation of the cartilage that connects a rib to the breastbone. Majority of cases have no apparent cause and treatment just focus on pain management. Symptoms include extreme pain on the left side of the chest, pain that affects more than one rib and gets worse when taking deep breaths.
