Colonic Ileus Definition and Symptoms
Colonic ileus is a partial or complete blockage of the small or large intestine. This is a common complication from surgery and can also be caused by a reduction in the blood supply to the abdomen. Symptoms include abdominal cramping, nausea, failure to pass gas or stool, vomiting, and abdominal distention.
