Chronic Cough Definition and Symptoms
Chronic cough is defined as a cough that lasts longer than 8 weeks in adults and 4 weeks in children. There are multiple causes of chronic cough some of the most common are asthma, GERD, and post nasal drip. Symptoms include hoarseness, heartburn, coughing up blood, rib fractures from excessive coughing, and a runny or stuffed nose.
