Chondromalacia Patella Definition and Symptoms
Chondromalacia patella refers to an inflammation of the underside of the patella and degeneration of the cartilage in the knee. Symptoms include discomfort in the inner front of the knee, pain increase due to activity, and mild swelling of the knee. If prolonged symptoms are ignored loss of the quadricep muscle may occur, resulting in the leg giving out.
