The production of bottled water came about due to the high demand of clean and safe drinking water to be accessible at all times. Cleanliness: Bottled water production is strictly monitored and regulated to make sure that water is clean and free of contaminants. Clean and safe tap water is not always available making bottled water highly in demand. After natural disasters, water lines might be affected and disrupted and this may lead to contamination of water supplied to every home. In cases like this, bottled water can be lifesavers because this is clean and safe to drink.

Availability: Bottled water is readily available in grocery stores and supermarkets. These come in different sizes and content per bottle giving individuals more options depending on their needs.

Cost: Buying bottled water is expensive especially if you are purchasing it very often. The cost will still depend on the brand and size of bottle. Remember that the cost of bottled water usually covers packaging, advertising, shipping and administrative costs. Experts even revealed that bottled water is more costly than milk.

Environmental Effects: The problem starts when empty bottles are not disposed properly. Due to this, waste problem has been attributed to bottled water. High percentage of bottles ends up in landfills and trash cans and this causes harmful effects to the environment.

Knowing these bottled water pros and cons can help you decide if it is really safe and practical to purchase this or not. There might be some bottled water cons recorded but the benefits still outweighs the disadvantages.
