Basal Cell Carcinoma Definition and Symptoms
Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer that begins in the basal cell within the skin. It typically appears as a waxy, white bump with visible blood vessels on the face, neck, or ears, but it can take other forms. In darker skinned people the cancer may be brown or black. Symptoms that can also signal to basal cell carcinoma are a flat, brown or flesh colored patch of skin of the back or chest that grows with time, and most rarely, a white, waxy scar.
