Bacterial Conjunctivitis Definition and Symptoms
More commonly known as pink eye, bacterial conjunctivitis is when the conjunctiva becomes inflamed, resulting in an infection. Symptoms include burning in the eye, “smearing” vision, redness in the white of the eye and inner eyelid, increased tear production, itchy eyes, thick yellow discharge that crusts over the eyelashes, and increased sensitivity to light.
