Anorexia Nervosa Definition and Symptoms
Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder where the patient has an extreme fear of gaining weight and goes to extreme measures to lose weight. They strictly restrict their food intake and typically exercise excessively. Symptoms include extreme weight loss, thin and frail appearance, fatigue, insomnia, intolerance of cold, dry skin, swelling of the arms and legs, hair that is very thin or weak, absence of menstruation, constipation, dizziness, and fainting.
