According to many, Abraham Lincoln was the greatest American President of all time. He served as the president in one of the most pivotal times in United States history. He accomplished many great things during his time in office, including the freeing of the slaves. He is a renowned man, not only for his accomplishments, but his outstanding personality as well.
The most noted trait of Abraham Lincoln was his absolute honesty. Honesty at this level is nearly unheard of in the political world. It made him someone that people could trust and admire. He was also very informed about what was happening in his country. Not just on a political level, but on a social level as well.
Lincoln was also an extremely well thought out and well spoken man. He could speak to people in a way that made them feel safe, which was great for influencing and encouraging troops and other members of the country. His sympathy is another noted personality trait. He was able to put himself in people’s shoes, and figure out the best way to improve their situations. This is highlighted int he freeing of African American’s as slaves in the U.S.
President Lincoln was a cautious man and that made him a good listener, a thinker and attentive. He would lend an ear to every problem but without biases. He would be as open as a man can be while at the same time he had his closed approach of assessing what he would gather, hear or learn. He was not averse to learning, even if it was from the unlikeliest of person around him. His personality was that of a person willing to learn and grow at the same time while not compromising on any ethic or principle that he believed in and propagated.
