Albinism has been the condition wherein an affected person has no similar amount of color or pigment in the skin, hair or eyes. The skin usually appears abnormally white. 1. King Edward the Confessor of England
King Edward has been regarded as a last House of Wessex king. He ruled his kingdom from 1042 up to 1066. He possesses pale skin, white hair and beard making him called an albino. His biographers described him as the successful king having characteristics of resourcefulness, energetic, pious, and being unworldly.
2. Emperor Seinei of Japan
Emperor Seinei had been the 22nd emperor of Japan and Emperor Yuryaku’s son. Historians indicated that he had been born with some albino traits, particularly white hair. After the death of his father, he won the throne of Prince Hoshikawa, his brother.
3. Connie Chiu
Connie was the first albino supermodel of the world. She was known to work with Jean Paul Gaultier, the fashion giant. Chiu was born in Hong Kong, however, due to her very sensitive condition, she moved to Sweden together with parents when she was 17 years old.
4. William Archibald Spooner
When it talks about linguistics, William Archibald Spooner has been a popular Don who had become very prominent due to his “spoonerisms”. Spoonerism is the play on words wherein consonants, morphemes, or vowels have been switched. He has been described as the small man having poor eyesight and pink face, which is no doubt an albino.
5. Salif Keita
Keita was born in Djoliba, Mali in the year 1949. She has been one of the most popular albino persons in the music industry. Nowadays, she is an afro-pop-singer-songwriter who is recognized internationally. However, she had endured ridicule once during his younger years. In the culture, Mandinka has been considered as a bad luck. For this reason, she has been cast out by his family, and was ostracized by the community. However, he still redeemed himself through pursuing his music career and being the “Gold Voice of Africa”. Keita was also said to be as a direct descendant of Sundiata Keita, the Mali Empire founder.
6. Johnny Winter
Johnny Winter was a Grammy award-winning producer, singer, and guitarist. He is widely known for having high energy blues-rock performances and albums. Along with his brother Edgar, he was born as an albino. However, despite this condition, he and his brother were still raised by their loving parents to continue with their musical interests. Because of his great contributions in the industry of music, Johnny had been inducted to the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame which belonged in the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” Rolling Stone Magazine list.
