Most supporters of Duritz know that he suffers with dissociate identity disorder. His condition affects his relationships with friends and family. To treat his condition, he decided to seek professional help. He has since found a medication that works for him and manages his disorder very well.
2. Truddi Chase
A prominent author, Chase also suffers with dissociative identity disorder. He wrote the book entitled “When Rabbit Howls” in 1987. His disorder stemmed from violent and sexual abuse that was endured throughout childhood. These types of personality disorders often root from abuse of some kind.
3. Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn Monroe was an American model, actress, and singer. She also became a major sex symbol in her early years in the showbiz industry. This legendary actress grew up with dissociative identity disorder. Her maternal grandparents and mother also suffered from the same condition. Monroe grew up in a foster home, which had extremely negative affects on her. It is speculated that this disorder was the root of her prescription drug overdose that caused her premature death.
4. Hershel Walker
He is a mixed martial artist and one of the best football players in the world. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles. According to Walker, he didn’t even remember winning the Heisman Trophy because of his undiagnosed dissociative identity disorder. To share his experiences about his condition, he wrote a book entitled “Breaking Free: My Life with Dissociative Identity Disorder”. From this book, he became more positive and tries to combat his condition.
