2. Singer Bradford Cox
The lead singer of “Deerhunter” band, Bradford Cox is another sufferer of Marfan syndrome. Furthermore, this distinctive physical appearance complemented the weird type of music produced by his band. He spoke to the media regarding his condition and admitted that he was already diagnosed of having it during his childhood. According to the singer, aside from its evident physical effects, his condition also affects his personality, since a lot of his personality affects his self-image. The band displays an experimental combination of electronic psych rock. Bradford has converted his inborn weakness as strength, while his appearance is complementing his band’s music perfectly.
3. British Composer John Traverner
A very popular classical composer from Britain, John Traverner also suffers from Marfan syndrome that was diagnosed after he had already spent the 46 years of his whole life dealing with it. Several members of John’s family have suffered from such disorder. His 2 daughters and his brother were also included among them. The composer has spoken regarding his condition publicly and the effects it gave to him. In 1991, he required an aortic root development. A very inspiring thing about the composer was the very positive spirit he has towards life. In fact, he believed within the disorders public awareness.
4. Italian Composer and Violinist Niccolo Paganini
A very popular Italian violinist and composer had the entire traits of the disorder. Paganini was very thin and tall, while his fingers were extremely disproportionate to the size of his palm. The Italian composer died because of the paralysis he experienced on his laryngeal nerve. On his death, Paganini lost his voice whereas a lot of people believed that his distinctively flexible and long fingers were the reason behind his strange capability of playing violin. Relatively, he had the longer length of life and his unusual joint flexibility helped him in his career as well.
5. Playwright Jonathan Larson
Jonathan Larson was an award-winning playwright. It was year 1996 when he died due to aortic dissection. Jonathan’s condition was diagnosed at the very late stage. It was in the very usual case of hidden Marfan syndrome. Larson had received 3 Tony awards and 1 Pulitzer because of the rock opera he produced. He was also known as a music composer, yet he became popular only later his death. During the funeral of Princess Diana his cello piece was played entitled “Song for Athene”. Larson continuously complained of his frequent chest pains, yet there is no one can suspect that he was suffering from Marfan syndrome.
