Getting rid of body hair permanently has a couple of different options. Laser hair removal and electrolysis. Laser hair removal is a newer procedure than electrolysis but both will get the job done with time and patience.
With each option you have to go for several treatments it is not something that happens over night however wants it is done it is done you should not have to return to shaving or other hair removal options.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a process in which a laser is slowly moved over the area that you want the hair removed from. The laser goes through the skin and reaches the hair follicle which is damaged by the laser this causes that hair to fall out.
There are some drawbacks with laser hair removal largely because it is still a new procedure. No one is quite sure why the laser causes damage to the hair follicle so that may put some users a bit at unease. This is a good option for people that have fair skin tones with dark hair. The darker your skin the more likely your skin will simply absorb the laser. This is because the darker your skin the more melantonin you have which acts as protection against light rendering the laser less effective.
This process also can take some time. It can take up to a year for the hair to fall out of the areas that you want it to be cleared from. You may also have to go up to 12 times in that year to see results. It can also be rather expensive.
The pain associated with laser hair removal is associated with small burns. With laser hair removal there is a real possibility of skin burning.
Electrolysis Hair Removal
Electrolysis is a proven method of hair removal that usually takes about 6 treatments spread out for 8 weeks each. Electrolysis is done by using a very fine needle inserted into the hair follicle that contains a small electric charge that zaps the follicle and kills it.
The down side with electrolysis is that you may experience some scabbing from the electrolysis. If you have a pace maker you may not be able to get this type of treatment because the small electric current may interfere with the ability of the pacemaker.
You will see immediate results with electrolysis. It is usually best for smaller areas like your facial hair or underarms. The pain level of electrolysis is associated with a hair being plucked or a slight burning sensation.
