Follistim Side Effects

Follistim or also known as Follitropin beta injection is used by women to encourage or stimulate their egg or follicle to mature and develop. This is used by women who are having difficulty in producing healthy egg and stimulation of hormone is insufficient but badly wants and desires to be pregnant. This product is also use to stimulate development of numerous eggs for vitro in fertilization. Men can also use this to increase their production of sperm cells. This contains natural occurring hormone which is the stimulating (FHS) hormone.

In the starting dose within the first four days treatment, a dose of Follistim AQ 150 to 225IU is highly recommended. The dose can be adjusted after this by an individual patient according to their response of ovary. There is no data if there other medication that may affect or interact with follistim. Always inform your doctor of your medications presently taking and current health conditions such as hyper tension and allergies toward certain ingredients of the medicine. This is only needed to use when desiring to become pregnant but once you succeeded, you must stop the medication because it may affect the baby inside the womb. For women who are breastfeeding, consulting a doctor is a must cause this might affect the nursing infant.

Common follistim side effects are: dizziness, breast pain or tenderness, pain or redness at the site of injection, bloating, stomach pain and headache. There are some women which develops sudden build up of fluid in chest area and stomach upon taking this medication. This is called hyper stimulation syndrome or OHSS, and a life threatening condition. Women must circumvent from having sex and consult their doctor immediately if any of these symptoms of OHSS will be experienced: Less urinating, Weight gain, stern pain in the lower part of stomach, bloating, diarrhea, fever, tiredness, muscle aches vomiting and nausea, swelling of legs and hands and short or irregular breathing.

If allergic reaction like swelling of throat, tongue, lips and face, hives difficulty in breathing; you must seek medical emergency assistance. Below are some guides that you must stop medication if the following are being felt: sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, mild pelvic pain/ discomfort or tenderness, stomach pain, mild nausea, bleeding in vagina, headache, weakness in one side of your body change in vision, slurred speech, swelling or pain in calf muscle and chest pain.

This is just some of the follistim side effects that may affect your health and may cause you serious sickness. It’s not prohibited to use scientific method especially if you tried all natural resources to be able to make and have a baby.
