It is a personality disorder that is considered a chronic condition, wherein a person would depend on others just to meet any of their physical and emotional needs. This leads to achieving independence minimally, which makes them helpless on their own. It can affect both ordinary people and famous people, which means that this disorder does not affect a single person alone. Some of the most known cases when it comes to such disorders are famous people, making people aware of the disorder and who has it.
Common Symptoms
There are many evidences that can show that a person is suffering from DPD. One of the common problems that a person may experience is putting their self-esteem down and not being able to cope up in certain situations on their own. There are also times wherein people would experience difficulty in staying in a place alone and are always looking for someone whom they can spend their time with.

They fear to be separated from people whom they have learned to live with and always seek to build another relationship just to maintain their dependency towards others.
Though there are treatments available for some of the mentioned famous people with dependent personality disorder, the results are not for a long term basis. Therapies, wherein people with such disorders will be taught on discovering their individual dependency patterns and how much time they spend in order to maintain such patterns, are used to eliminate their dependency and use alternative in improving their independence.
